COVID-19 UPDATES

To our patients,

As you know your care and safety and the safety of our team is our top priority.

Recommendations to dental offices are changing rapidly regarding shelter in place, social distancing and essential dental treatment. We are working hard to remain compliant with the recommendation by the American Dental Association, California Dental Association and our Governor that California dentists suspend all care other than essential and emergency treatment.

If you have any questions regarding your dental care or have urgent concerns, please call us or send a direct message through our website; we are here for you and will be seeing emergency patients.

Our phones will be answered during our normal business hours and, as always, we can be reached outside of the business hours for any emergency calls.

We are looking forward to returning to patient care and the opportunity to once again visit with our dental family of patients…we miss you all!

Thank you for being our patients!

Dental Implant Benefits

Oct 22, 2021 @ 08:05 AM — by Sharon B. Mateja, D.D.S.

To avoid further complications people should address tooth loss as soon as possible. The most highly recommended treatment for missing teeth is dental implants.

Dental implants replace the roots and crown of a tooth, making them the closest replica to the natural teeth. Here, Sharon B Mateja, DDS, goes over some of the numerous other dental implant benefits that make this the treatment of choice for so many of her Rancho Cucamonga, CA, dental patients who have suffered tooth loss.

Superior Stability

Dental implants are surgically implanted into the jaw, where they act as artificial tooth roots. In the weeks after dental implant surgery, the tissues of the jaw heal around the implant, fusing with it so that it basically becomes a part of the jaw. Once they have fused with the jaw implants are fitted with dental restorations, like crowns, bridges, or dentures, that replicate the crown of the teeth. Dental implants anchor these restorations and hold them in place permanently. This gives our Rancho Cucamonga patients’ smiles superior stability, and allows them to speak, bite, and chew with confidence, knowing that their implants will never slip or fall out of place.

Long-lasting Durability

Dental implants are made of titanium, which means they are built to last. While other dental restorations may need to be replaced in as little as five to 10 years, dental implants can last a lifetime. As long as patients practice good oral hygiene habits and follow all recommended aftercare, they should never need to have their dental implants replaced.

Blend in Seamlessly with the Smile

The dental restorations that are fitted on dental implants are completely customizable. Dr. Mateja personalizes the size, shape, and color of restorations so that they closely match the natural teeth and blend in seamlessly with the smile. This allows our patients to enjoy a smile that is not only attractive, but also completely natural looking.

Ease of Care

Many of our Rancho Cucamonga dental implant patients enjoy how easy it is to care for these restorations. Dental implants stay in place as a permanent part of the smile; they do not require special care or special cleaning products. Caring for dental implants is as easy as brushing and flossing them right alongside the natural teeth. Patients should also continue to schedule routine dental exams and cleanings every six months, to prevent the buildup of plaque or tartar along the gumline.

Prevention of Jaw Bone Degeneration

Many dental implant benefits set them apart from other tooth loss treatments, but one of the greatest is the prevention of jaw bone degeneration, or bone loss. The tissues of the jaw bone are stimulated by the tooth roots, every time a person bites down. When teeth are lost, that stimulation is no longer there, and over time, the bones weaken. Fortunately, dental implants act as replacement tooth roots, ensuring that the tissues of the jaw receive the stimulation that is needed to prevent bone loss. Dental implants are the only tooth loss treatment that offers this benefit.
